Watford City - Samuel Engebretson, 89, Watford City, died at a Williston hospital
Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church of
Watford City with Pastor David Nelson officiating. Intement will be in
Spring Creek Cemetery at Watford City.

Mr. Engebretson was born March 29, 1880m at Black River Falls, Wis., to
Ole and Andrine* Engebretson. He received his education and subsequently worked
in the Black River Falls area until 1910 when he came to McKenzie County.

He homesteaded nine miles southeast of Watford City in the Spring Creek area
where he was engaged in farming and ranching.

Dec 25, 1914 he was married to Louise Hanson in Williston. They lived on his
homesteaded property until 1961 when they moved into Watford City.

He was a member of the Spring Creek Lutheran Church and served on various
church boards. He also served on the McKenzie County Memorial Hospital Board
for one term.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Avis) Rogness of
Watford City, and Carol of Baton Rouge, La; one son, Orville of Watford City,
three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Leiseth Funeral Home of Watford City is in charge of arrangements.
