Reuben Kappedal

The funeral for Reuben L. Kappedal, 72, Winger, MN will be at 2 Monday
in Union Lake Free Lutheran Church near Winger. Visitation will be one
hour before services in the church. He died Thursday, June 29, 1995.

Mr. Kappedal was born Jan 9, 1923, near Fertile, MN where he grew up
and attended school. he worked as a farm laborer and later lived and farmed
with his brother in Mahnomen, MN and Winger. He became a resident of
Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile last October.

He is survived by his brother, Olaf, Winger and a sister,
Louise (Gilbert) Renna, Fertile.

Reuben Lawrence Kappedal, 72, rural Winger, MN died Thursday, June 29, 1995 at
the Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, MN. He was born on January 9, 1923, on
the home farm in Woodside Township, rural Fertile, MN, to Carl and Sarah (Vangen)
Kappedal. As a child, he moved to Garden Township, where he grew up and attended
school.

Following his schooling, Reuben worked as a farm laborer. He and his brother, Olaf,
lived in Mahnomen, Winger and, in 1949, settled on a farm in Winger Township. They
farmed together until Reuben's health failed. He was admitted to the Fair Meadow
Nursing Home on October 19, 1994.

Reuben will be remembered as a generous man with his time and talents, always being
willing to help others.

Reuben is survived by - his brother, Olaf, Winger, MN;
and a sister, Louise (Gilbert) Renna, Fertile, MN;
one brother in law, Lawrence Overyby, Moorhead, MN;
several nieces and nephews.

Those who precede him in death are - his parents; two brothers, Berendt and Chester;
and one sister, Bernice Overby.
