| Leonard E. Hovland, 76, of Bremerton died Monday at
Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1916 in Antelope, MT. He moved to Kitsap County from Wilbur, Lincoln County, 23 years ago. On May 29, 1949, he married Laura Mahlen in Plentywood, MT. Mr. Hovland was a salesman for Coast to Coast Hardware for more than 40 years, most recently at the Perry Avenue Store. He retired in 1985. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed talking with people and building derby cars. Survivors include his wife, Laura; three sons, Larry and Lyle both of Bremerton, and Leo of Port Orchard; three daughters, LaVonne Carlson of Seattle, and Lola Stephenson and Lori Riska, both of Bremerton; three sisters, Emma Nygard of Tucson, AZ, and Myrtle Samuels and Ruby Johnson, both of Rochester, NY; 16 grandchildren, two great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Morris. Services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
