Lars Hedman
| IN LOVING MEMORY OF LARS HEDMAN Lars Emil Hedman passed away at the age of 69 years and 17 days, in the Fosston Hospital Monday morning, December 3, 1956 after a illness. He was born November 16, 1887 to Anna and Erick Olson Hedman on their homestead southwest of McIntosh in Knute Township. Lars grew to manhood in that community. He was baptized by Pastor Udden who passed through the community in the early days, and was confirmed by Pastor N. Lehard, who served the Salem rural church congregation during the pioneer days. Lars remained an active member of that congregation until the time of his passing. May 23, 1917 he was united in marriage to Marie Mahlen of McIntosh at the Swedish parsonage by Pastor Walfred Erickson. He farmed in the Knute and King Townships until 1943 when he moved to McIntosh where he resided until the time of his departure. He was a partner in Hedman Brothers Oil Company and served on the creamery board several years. Lars was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Selma. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Marie; one daughter, Bernice (Mrs. Vernon Stardig); and four grandchildren; Judy, Billy, Dicky and Danny, all of Middle River, MN; also, four sisters: Emma (Mrs. Rudolph Kannenberg) of Tuscon, AZ; Ellen (Mrs. Oscar Solie) and Manda (Mrs. George Kraft) both of Minneapolis, MN, and Mrs. Christine Johnosn of shell Lake, Sask., Canada; and three brothers: Ole and Gust of McIntosh and Art of Maple Lake, MN.
