Isabell Brunell

Isabell T. Brunell, age 82 of West Fargo, ND and formerly of Grafton and Forest River, ND,
died on Wednesday, January 14, 2004, in the Palliative Care unit of MeritCare Hospital of
Fargo, ND, following a brave battle with lung cancer.

Isabell was born Tina Eisebla Vangen on September 2, 1921, to Thomas and Inga (Olson)
Vangen in Erskine, MN. At the age of five the family moved to Arvilla, ND, where she attended
school. On September 16, 1937 she married James Frederick "Fritz" Brunell. Together they
raised one daughter, Constance.

They spent many years traveling while Fritz worked road construction for Tennefos Construction.
After their retirement from the road, they owned and operated the "Irish Shanty" in Fairbault, MN.
They settled in Forest River in 1970. After Fritz's passing in 1981, Isabell moved to Grafton whee
she worked in the bakery at Wally's Grocery Store. She retired and continued to live in Grafton
until she moved to West Fargo, ND in 2002. She was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Gary) Hanson of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren,
Rebecca (David) Anderson and her children, Brett and Kalah Erickson of Fargo, ND; and
Ramona Delzer and her children Kimberley and Jacob Delzer of Placentia, CA; nephew,
James (Marty) Vangen of Cross Lake, MN; nieces, Penelope (Brian) Coles of Libby, MT;
Renay (John) Meissner of Vestal, NY; and special friends, Bob and Leona Paulson of Grafton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Alvin; sister, Mildred (Bert) Bartuska;
and her beloved pet dog of 18 years, Gretchen.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 19, 2004, at 10:00 AM at the Forest River Community
of Forest River, ND. visitation will be sunday from 3-6 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of
Grafton and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at the Forest River Cemetery
of Forest River, ND.

The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the Arrangements.
