Inga Herland
Funeral Memoriam
June 17, 1903 - June 17, 1996

Inga Iverson was born June 17, 1903 to John and Mari (Sateren) Iverson in Norway.
She came to the United States in 1904 with her family, briefly residing in Minnesota
before they settled in the Skabo area of Divide County.

She was raised on the farm, attended Liberty country school and graduated from
Crosby High School.

She taught for one year and cooked in cook cars for several summers before becoming
married.

On August 25, 1928 she was united in marriage to Bert Herland in Williston.
They established their home and farmed in the Corinth community until 1941 when they
moved to Everett, Washington where Bert worked in the shipyards during WWII. In 1947
they returned to the Alamo area and resided there until moving to Williston in 1953.

Inga lost Bert in 1978, but continued to live in Williston and eventually entered the
Kensington some six years ago.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and the Welfare Circle. Inga enjoyed
crocheting, sewing and quilting; baking and cooking; and playing cards. She enjoyed
time spent at the Heritage Center and later took part in many activities at the
Kensington.

She is survived by three daughters:
Maxine Holgerson and her husband, Conrad, of Williston,
Beatrice Scarr and her husband, Hilton, of Williston and
Betty Scarr and her husband, L.E. "Bud", of Kirkland, WA;
two sons, Boyd Herland and his wife, Orinne, of Alamo and
Dean Herland of Grand Junction, CO;
fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great­grandchildren;
three sisters, Clara Mattson of Mesa, AZ,
Ida Lewison of Everett, WA and
Ellen Tucker of Grass Valley, CA;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson,
two sisters and five brothers.

Hillside Memory Gardens - Williston, North Dakota

This individual is not a member of my family, but was a friend of the family.
