| Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am in the Round Prairie Lutheran Church for Mrs. Hannah Mahlen, 77, pioneer Round Prairie Township resident, who died Monday night in a Roosevelt (Montanta) Hospital. The Rev. Ronald Barth will officiate and burial will be in the Round Prairie Churchyard Cemetery. Hannah Vangen was born in Goodhue County, MN Sept. 22, 1887 and grew up and was educated there. On March 20, 1907, she was united in marriage to Alfred Mahlen in McIntosh, MN and they established their home on Alfred's homestead in Round Prairie Township. They lived there until moving to Bainville in 1940. Mr. Mahlen died April 1, 1961. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Lillian (Ernest) Johnson of Williston, ND, Mrs. Esther (Albert) Stromme of Zahl, ND, Mrs. Ella (Leonard) Vannatta of Bainville, MT, Mrs. Florence (Omar) Njos of Williston, ND, Mrs. Myrtle (Dale) French of Williston, ND, Mrs. Laura (Leonard) Hovland of Shelby, MT, Mrs. Pearl (Dale) Berwick of Culbertson, MT, Three sons, Ernest (Evelyn) Mahlen of Bainville, MT, Syvert (Minnie) Mahlen of Williston, ND, Fred (Marian) Mahlen of Havre, MT; 52 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Sarah (Carl) Kappedahl of Winger, MN and Mrs. Ingeborg (Halvor) Lesethmoe of Bimidji, MN. She was preceded in death by one son, Joe in 1964 and one infant son and two infant daughters. Everson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
