Evelyn Mahlen

Evelyn Bergliot Nepstad was born on September 19, 1923 in rural Watford City, ND to
Carl and Hulda (Hahre) Nepstad. She attended school six miles southeast of Watford City.
On February 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Ernest Victor Mahlen. Evelyn and
Ernest bought their home in Bainville and have been a part of the community ever since.

She was a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother, loving wife, sister and friend
to all.

Evelyn loved reading her Bible and would also read to her grandchildren any chance she
would get. She loved baking, her specialty was caramel rolls and buns. She enjoyed
Bible study, quilting, playing table games, gardening and spending time doing puzzles at the
Senior Center in Bainville. Evelyn was a member of the Bainville Faith Fellowship Church,
TOPS, the Bainville Senior Citizens and was Senior of the Year in 1998.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law:
Yvonne E. and Link Thompson of St. Petersburg, Florida,
Karen M. and Roger LeTang of Rudyard, Montana;
sons and daughters-in-law:
Gary Mahlen of Bainville, Montana,
DuWayne and Carla Mahlen of Rapid City, South Dakota,
Maynard and Karen of Lewistown, Montana,
Bruce and Pat Mahlen of Shoshone, Wyoming,
Mark and Kristine Mahlen of Froid, Montana, and
Curtis Mahlen of Bainville, Montana;
twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; sisters:
Hazel Sandstrom of Williston and
Margaret Eikren of Alexander, North Dakota; and a half-brother,
Kendel Nepstad of England, United Kingdom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest on April 12, 1977;
her son, Steven Tyrell; a half-sister, Clarene Ledum; and half-brothers, Maylan and
Marlan Nepstad.

Interment will take place at the Bainville Cemetery, Bainville Montana.
