| Emry Edmond Harstad was born August 26, 1927 in Cow
Creek Township, Williams County, North Dakota to Mikkel and Carrie Harstad. He was baptized and confirmed at the rural St. Paul Lutheran Church and received his education at the rural Formosa School # 3. In 1948 Emry was united in marriage to Constance Swanson at the first Lutheran Church in Williston. Emry and Constance were divorced in 1972. Emry is survived by one son, Lauren, and his wife, Shelly, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathon and Laura Harstad, Allison and Daniel Werner; one brother, Paul, of Williston, five sisters, Inga (Mrs. Leon) Halvorsen, Borghild Schmidt, Elva Hanson, Doris Hering, all of Williston and Sylvia (Mrs. Homer) Orth of Woodbury, MN. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Leanne Werner; his parents; four brothers, Alvin, Orvil, Mitchel and Edwin; and two sisters, Minnie Springer and Cora Cain. Emry loved horses almost as much as he loved the game of baseball, but they never took the place of the love he had for his family and friends.
