Berendt Edward Kappedal, Sr.

Berendt Edward Kappedal, Sr. was born Jan. 24, 1912 in Erskine, MN to
parents Carl and Sarah Vangen Kappedal. As a young boy he moved with
the family to Winger, MN where he attended rural school.

He served with the US Army during World War II (one year in the Pacific)
from July 1942 until he received his honorable discharge on Dec 25, 1945.

He was married to Earlamae Palmer on Oct 9, 1943 in Rosenburg, OR.
They have resided in Lengby since 1947.

Mr. Kappedal was a member of the Spring Lake V.F.W. Post 2759.

On Monday, Sept 11, 1989, Berendt Kappedal, Sr. passed away at his
home in Lengby at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife, Earlamae; four sons and one daughter.

Berendt Jr and wife Diane of Lengby
Carl and wife Sharon of Fosston
Gary and wife Connie of Lengby, and
JoAnn and husband Ray Aiken of Superior, WI;
14 grandchildren and on great granddaughter;
two brothers: Olaf and Reuben both of Winger, and two sisters:
Louise (Mrs. Gilbert) Renna of Fertile, MN and
Bernice (Mrs. Lawrence) Overby of Moorhead and four nephews and
three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Chester and one
son, Patrick.
