| Arnold L. Haugen WILLISTON, N.D. - Arnold L. Haugen, 84, well-known Williams County native and Williston resident of 1229 First Ave. E.; died suddenly of natural causes Tuesday morning, April 20, 1993, at Mercy Hospital, Williston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, in First Lutheran Church, Williston. The Rev. Scott Musselman and Pastor Martin Heide will Officiate and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Arnold Leonard Haugen was born. June 29, 1908, in Round Prairie Township in Williams County to Jul and Gunda (Jacobson) Haugen. He was raised in Round Prairie Township, attended school there and was baptized and confirmed in the Round Prairie Lutheran Church. On Nov. 16, 1935, he was united in marriage to Ruth V. Lee in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, northwest of Williston. Mr. Haugen opened a repair shop in 1935 and worked as a mechanic for Booke Motor Co. in the late 1930s. In 1941, he began his employment with the Farmers Union Oil Co. and worked there through the years until his retirement on June 29, 1973. Mr. Haugen was a member of the First Lutheran Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and was on the Building Committee during the construction of the new church. He passed away with the dignity with which he lived and he will be missed. Mr. Haugen is survived by hiS wife of 58 years, Ruth; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Jeannie of Gig Harbor, Wash., Noral and Sonja of Williston, David and Monna of Belfair, Wash., and Paul and Peggy of Gig Harbor; 13 grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Orville and Byron, both of Williston; eight sisters, Mrs. Millie Rundhauge, Mrs. Bernice Jones and Mrs. Gladys Theodorson, all of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Florence Fauver of Everett, Wash., Mrs. Alice Robinson of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Esther Watts of St Cloud, Minn., Mrs. Rosella Elsbree of Boise, Idaho, and Deloris Jacobson of Fargo. Mr. "Haugen was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Friends may call until 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Everson Funeral Home in Williston. |
